He has developed activities in the area of electricity since 1978 in the Electricity Distribution area of the state company of Uruguay, UTE, in sectors of maintenance of low voltage underground networks, network works low and medium voltage aerial and underground, projects and works of high to medium voltage transformation substations and Technical Studies for the Exploitation of medium and low voltage networks in Montevideo.

 

From 1996 to 2014 he has acted as responsible for the Planning, Specification, Standardization, Projects, Implementation, Commissioning and Maintenance Support of SCADA Systems and Intelligent Automation and Control Systems of UTE Distribution Networks.

From 2010 to 2016, as a representative of the Distribution area, he was part of the UTE Corporate Group in charge of the preparation and implementation of the company's Smart Grid Master Plan.

 

From 2017 to June 2019, he directed the Advanced Distribution Systems Project and acted as an expert in the Electric Mobility Project, which are part of UTE's Prioritized Smart Grid Project.

 

Develop independent professional activity in:

 

  • Advice to private Uruguayan and foreign companies, in projects and construction management of electrical systems (power, control, protection and measurement) in the Commercial, Port, Industrial, Tertiary and Hospital areas.

  • Advice to project units and management of building works for educational institutes, financed by international loans (MEMFOD/PAEMFE, MECAEP/PAEPU, DSI ANEP)

  • Advice and consultancy to foreign companies in the areas of SCADA, DMS, AMR and AMI systems (in the last two as a World Bank Consultant).

 

He has given training courses at UTE, international organizations (CIER) and at International Seminars, he has made presentations at Private Universities of Uruguay and at International Seminars and has participated as author of Technical Papers at various Seminars and Congresses, in Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
